Drop and Give Me Ten (Pages)!

Dear Readers,

Tomorrow is D.E.A.R. Day - Drop Everything and Read Day. Celebrated on the birthday of one of my favorite kiddie lit authors Beverly Cleary, it's a day to celebrate reading...and making sure you set aside time for it.

I love reading--I love getting lost in other worlds and reading about other people--so I'm ready to celebrate by taking a chunk of the day to do just that.

I hope you decide to celebrate too--leave a comment, and let me know what book you choose to read!

Your pal,
Jill

  2. I have recently gotten back into reading. I LOVED it as a child and teenager, but as an adult, it feels like there's always something else I SHOULD be doing.

I just finished "The Book Thief" and I LOVED it!!

Right now I've moved on to "We Two: Victoria and Albert: Rulers, Partners, Rivals". It seems a timely read given the upcoming royal nuptuals.

  3. No way! They still have that? I remember loving that day in grade school because you got to read DURING CLASS!

I'm reading "The Position" by Meg Wolitzer. Just before it I read her book "The Ten Year Nap," which I absolutely loved. Her style is very literary but keeps pulling you along to the next page at the same time.

Looking forward to reading Tina Fey's book as soon as it arrives from Powell's.
